Meadow View Glamping is situated at Meadow View Campsite, Wigbeth, Horton, Dorset BH21 7JH. There’s long been a successful campsite at Meadow View. How can I pay for my holiday?

If you book through our live booking system you will be taken to a secure payment area at the end of the booking process where you can make payment by debit/credit card. If you are booking over the phone we will take a card payment. If you have been given a gift voucher you will need to enter the code to book the holiday on our booking system.

Are there shower/bathroom facilities onsite?

Yes there are two shared shower/toilet blocks within short walking distance of the bell tents with hot showers and ladies/gents toilets. These are heated. There’s also a hairdryer in the ladies!View more details of our campsite »

How close together are the yurts/bell tents?

All accommodation is spaced approximately 5m apart.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in is between 3pm and 6pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is before 11am on the day of departure.  We live off site and meet guests on arrival so it is important that you are able to arrive at these times. If you are likely to arrive later than this please contact us before booking.

What do we need to bring?

Plenty of warm clothes – for the unpredictable British weather.
Slippers/indoor shoes– we prefer shoes not to be worn inside the bell tents as grass and debris can get dragged in and trodden into the carpets. We suggest bringing something comfortable for padding around inside the tent.
Torches – we provide LED lanterns inside the tents and fairy lights on the outside, but there’s minimal lighting on the campsite at night so we advise bringing a torch, so you can safely find your way back to your tent.
Shower gel/shampoo – hand wash and toilet rolls are provided in the shower/toilet blocks, but you’ll need to bring your own towels and toiletries of choice.
Welly Boots – in case of wet weather.
Camping chairs – we provide a picnic bench with each tent, but you may wish to bring folding camping chairs to sit around the fire in the evening.

USB/Car Phone Charger – remember there’s no electricity in the bell tents.

Freezer blocks – for cool box.

Is there bedding provided for the children's z beds?

Yes – we provide a sleeping bag and pillow, with a mattress protector on the fold-out bed.

What's in the Kitchen Essentials Box?

In the kitchen box there’s crockery (dinner plates/side plates/bowls), mugs, cutlery, medium saucepan, small saucepan, frying pan, seive/colander, utensils – stirring spoons, spatula, bread knife/chopping knife/paring knife, tin opener, chopping boards.

Do you provide travel cots?

Yes we have a limited number of travel cots for infants. You can book a travel cot in advance in the extras section when placing a booking.

Can I park next to my yurt/bell tent?

Usually you are able to park next to your accommodation – one vehicle per tent. During wet spells we may ask you to park on hard standing which is a couple of minutes walk. Our staff will help transport your luggage to your accomodation. Extra vehicles are charged at £5 per night – please let us know if you’re bringing an extra vehicle when booking.

Is there a damages deposit?

There’s no upfront damages deposit payment, however your payment card will be pre-authorised on booking as a damage waiver and we reserve the right to charge a cleaning surcharge of £50 if the accommodation is left in an unsatisfactory state. We will need to be informed of any damages or breakages if they occur. We know that accidents happen, but more serious damage will also need to be charged for and we will inform you before making any charges.

Is there mains electricity in my accommodation?

No. It’s an off-grid camping experience in a rural location. We advise bringing a car phone charger or USB charging bar to charge your mobile phone and/or tablet.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Unfortunately our broadband supply is very poor due to the rural location so we are not able to offer wifi. Most mobile phone signals can be received on the campsite, so 4G internet access can be used.

Is the campsite secure?

The campsite is very secure and entry to the campsite is via a gate which is kept locked at all times. You will be given a key for the gate on arrival. Whilst it is a very safe site we cannot however accept liability for personal property kept in the bell tent and advise keeping valuable items on your person or locked in your vehicle.

Is there a bbq or firepit provided?

Yes. Each tent has it’s own tripod bbq/firepit for an authentic camping experience. Charcoal, firelighters and briquettes can be purchased from reception or you are welcome to bring your own.

Can we come as a group of adults?

Our accommodation is for family only camping so we do not accept bookings for mixed or single sex adult groups. We welcome family groups e.g 4 families staying together. We do not accept other types of groups however, as we feel the two do not mix and it would be unfair to try to accommodate both in proximity.

Can we bring our dog?

Dogs strictly by prior arrangement (no large breeds please). We only allow small, well behaved dogs (maximum of one per party) and ask that they’re accommodated in a suitable dog crate during your stay. They must be kept under control and on a lead whilst on site. There is a surcharge of £5 per night for bringing a dog. Please contact us if you are thinking of bringing your dog.
